Wedding at The Venues Toledo

July 11, 2022

You know you’re at the right wedding when The Office is quoted in BOTH the Best Man’s and Maid of Honor’s speeches. But to be fair, the quotes they chose were pretty appropriate:

“I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.” -Andy Bernard

“When you’re a kid you assume your parents are soulmates. My kids are going to be right about that.” -Pam Beesly

Middle School Sweethearts

That second one really makes sense for Maddie and Ryan. They met in middle school band where they both played trumpet. Even though they liked each other for a while, Maddie wasn’t allowed to date until she was 16. Finally they got to go on their first date in high school—mini golf. They’ve been together ever since!

They now enjoy their family life with their two pups, Cooper and Luna, who were well represented at their wedding. They each had their own specialty cocktail named after them! Cooper was even the star of Ryan’s proposal to Maddie. Ryan tricked her into a “family photo” by their Christmas tree in 2020, had Maddie close her eyes, and when she opened them she saw he had fastened a bandana to Cooper that read “Will you marry my daddy?” as he was on one knee! STINKING CUTE.

Their wedding was just as sweet as they are and very true to themselves. Maddie had a little bag that was made out of Ryan’s grandma’s wedding dress. They incorporated a unity barrel into their ceremony where they combined pink lemonade vodka and apple whiskey. Maddie, her sister, and her mom shared a dance together to some traditional Irish music, Ryan and his friends did Thunderstruck some serious justice, and we even snuck out for some golden hour pictures. Both families were so proud of their kids, and rightfully so. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Watson! A big thank you to The Venues Toledo and all the other amazing vendors involved:
