My favorite photo sessions are the ones that start out a little shy (who wouldn't be), but with each photo I can see the worries melt away into the person they're marrying. I try to use movement-based poses and prompts to encourage those raw emotions, and I think this is how your true selves shine through in the images you get back.
My approach is kind of a hybrid, I don't really consider myself to fit into the traditional, documentary, or editorial styles exclusively, but rather a mixture. I believe a wedding day has times where all might be necessary. For example, I don't really like static look-right-at-the-camera poses, but they have their place and I understand the importance of them. I also think it's important to let some moments unfold organically to really capture the true essence of it. But, I also won't be afraid to fix your dress in the middle of the ceremony if it's not fluffed. Overall, I think it's important to know when to step in, but most importantly when to step back.
