Just outside of Wooster, Ohio is this charming, elegant, and slightly rustic private farm turned wedding venue. Kristen and Luke’s wedding at Thunderhead Pines was stunning, emotional, and so true to them as a couple.
Getting Ready and Holding Spaces
Thunderhead Pines has a spacious bridal suite with makeup stations and a changing area for your party to get ready in. Your other party can hang out in the renovated barn that’s only a short walk away. But, it also private enough so that no one will see each other before they are supposed to. We then took advantage of the green space in front of the bridal suite for the ladies and used the covered porch for some shade. After that, Kristen and Luke shared a first touch and first prayer, and I got some snazzy photos of Luke in the barn loft.
Thunderhead Pines Wedding: Ceremony by the Pond
They chose to have their ceremony waterside with the fountain behind them and they were surrounded by plants! Since they’re both big on being plant parents, this was so fitting for them. They even had a propagation trading station for their guests! They also chose to have communion together and have a close friend officiate which was so pretty to witness.
Portrait Locations
There are so many gorgeous spots for photos, and we had the perfect sunset for them! There are a few hills that help get a better view of the sky and give your photographer a good vantage point. We also had to go back to the pond and fountain of course. I loved how goofy Kristen and Luke were the whole time! I love wedding photos that show personality and these photos have tons of it.
Thunderhead Pines Wedding: Reception Spots
Conveniently, the dinner location is connected to the bridal suite, so entrances are done through there. Once dinner is finished, we moved over to the barn which has string lights covering the outdoor patio for a romantic feel for your evening and dances. It also allows for guests to move between inside and outside in case the weather isn’t ideal. This is also where they set up the ice cream machine, desserts, and of course the Ohio State Buckeyes game (no one was missing that).
