Located on Michigan State’s campus in Lansing, Michigan is one of the state’s most stunning wedding venues around! Filled with thousands of flowers and beautiful landscapes, your wedding at the MSU Horticulture Gardens is sure to be stunning.
Getting Ready Together
First, Adam and Stefan chose to get ready together with their wedding parties at a nearby Airbnb in town. I had never seen a couple do this and was so beautiful and emotional to watch! They were able to help each other with their ties and jackets and it was filled with moments they’ll never forget.
Wedding at MSU Horticulture Gardens: Ceremony
I remember when I first spoke with Adam and Stefan and they were so excited about the landscapes this venue has to offer. They even said they didn’t need to spend money on florals because it’s so pretty already. They were right! Their ceremony setup was super simple with elegant chairs set up on the lawn and the landscape did all the decorating.
Portrait Locations
There are plenty of beautiful green spots around the ceremony and reception space. However, my personal favorite is the pond area that was surrounded by tall trees and other plants. If that wasn’t enough, there’s even a mini waterfall! We could not have had a more beautiful golden hour for all of their photos. Also, don’t skip out on getting some pictures by the fountain! If you’re lucky, a butterfly might photobomb you too (see images below!).
MSU Horticulture Gardens Wedding: Reception in the Conservatory
The reception setup inside was easily one of my favorite spaces I’ve ever photographed in. The light shines perfectly filtered golden into the space. Additionally, inside the conservatory has tons of massive plants! After dinner, you can move the party outside to the covered dance floor. Adam and Stefan performed a beautifully choreographed first dance out there with the sunlight hitting them just right. Take a look through my favorites from their wedding gallery below!
