Brooke flew from Florida to Ohio with Payton for what she thought would be a quick visit with family and friends. But little did she know Payton had much bigger plans! Payton’s sister-in-law reached out to me and asked if I’d be willing to capture the moment Payton planned to propose to Brooke. Of course I jumped at the opportunity! I had been wanting to do something like this for a while! These ladies and their families made it such a special evening for everyone; one I was honored to have been a part of.
The upstairs of Inside the Five Brewing was rented out for the evening and decorated with rose petals. There was also a light up “marry me” sign and photos of Payton and Brooke scattered around. Both families gathered (some even traveled from Chicago to be there!) and awaited their arrival. Brooke thought they were just going out for dinner, so when they arrived upstairs, Brooke thought they had walked in on someone else’s party! She even turned to leave. But soon enough, Brooke noticed their families watching. Payton brought her to the center of some heart-shaped rose petals, got down on one knee, and she said yes!
I can’t thank these ladies enough for welcoming me into one of the most intimate moments of their lives so far, and for their families for being so inviting. You would never have known that their families hadn’t met before! You could truly feel the love in the room from everyone. A special shout out to the staff at Inside the Five! They did a spectacular job not only taking care of us, but also helping with the surprise!
