After Jaycie’s first date with Zach, she swore she knew she would marry him. And of course, she was right! She told him she wanted the proposal to be intimate with no one else but them, and Zach nailed it. He took her to a cliff overlooking Lake Nicol in Alabama and popped the question in the romantic way she always wanted! They’re originally from Michigan, so they decided to have their wedding at The Legacy by Arthur Hills in Ottawa Lake, MI. Family is very important to them, so it was a must for all of them to be there.
They got ready and had their ceremony at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, MI. Jaycie wore her mother’s cathedral length veil, and her first look with her dad was probably the sweetest one I’ve ever witnessed. His pride was all over his face- his mouth dropped open when he saw her! There was not a dry eye anywhere in that room. If you’re thinking of doing a first look with your dad…these photos might convince you.
Family bonds
The family bonds were present in every part of the day. Jaycie’s dad walked her down the aisle, and he lifted her veil when they reached the end. This was a really important moment for her and something I’d actually never seen before! Their wedding party was largely family and the memory table was a must have photo. One of my favorite photos is of Jaycie’s mom getting emotional during her dance with her dad! They kept an old family tradition alive at the reception too! Jaycie’s dad brought out a very long and large glass bottle that everyone in their family has drank out of at past weddings. Zach and Jaycie were next up!
Since the sun sets much earlier in the winter, we were lucky enough to get photos in all different lighting. We started wedding party photos during a cloudy golden hour but managed to get a little bit of a sunset. We even got into blue hour which I don’t normally get to do! Sadly the ground was a little too wet to go too far onto the golf course. But, we still got some gorgeous photos by the chapel and outside the club house. Check out my favorites below!
