What to expect when booking Birchwood Meadow

Located near Oak Openings in Swanton, Ohio sits Birchwood Meadow, an 8,000 square foot venue sitting on 27 acres of green. The building seats up to 300 guests with 40 foot ceilings and can double as a ceremony space in colder months or for rainy days. Outside there is a designated ceremony space complete with a waterfall. There are also two suites for both partners to get ready in that each have private bathrooms. Additionally, a balcony connects the two rooms with a sliding barn door in the middle to maintain privacy.

The large windows at the front of the building give tons of natural light. At the opposite end is a grand staircase that is perfect for dramatic reception entrances and beautiful portraits. The stairs lead to each getting ready suite on your right and left.

Steffi and Jon’s Birchwood Meadow Wedding

Steffi and Jon met on Hinge during the covid lockdown but were long distance for about 4 months while Jon was living in Minnesota. Once he moved back to Cincinnati, it took them all of two days to have an in-person date after months of facetiming and talking every day. Jon picked up tacos and they had a little picnic in the park at sunset. How cute! He completely surprised Steffi with his proposal which was in New York City. After two months of planning, he cooked up the perfect proposal with the Brooklyn bridge behind them and a photographer there to capture everything.

Their September wedding at Birchwood Meadow was one that I will remember for the rest of my career. I’ve never seen so much love and joy between family and friends and it was on their faces all day. Steffi’s dad officiated their ceremony and get this– she wrote and recorded a custom song for her and Jon’s first dance. Not a single dry eye was in the building (including mine). Their dog Remi even made an appearance in a very sophisticated bowtie. I’ll also never get over the florals Gardenview provided. The ceremony aisle was COVERED in flower petals and the rest of the decor was expertly designed for a classy bride. Everything was perfectly planned and executed thanks to Your Perfect Day. Every detail contributed to an elevated, elegant, and downright fun wedding day.
